What is Coaching?

Coaching is the deliberate attempt to enhance an individual’s performance, usually following an assessment of the individual. In the business environment coaching is used as part of an overall strategy in:
        
        1. Leadership and Followership Development - I.e. How to develop leaders and followers. 
        2. Talent Management – Who should be developed and when.

Our team of psychologists and adult learning and development specialists, integrate empirically sound methodology, with practical management experience, to deliver professional one-on-one, team and coach supervision sessions/programmes. An outcome-based approach, encourages coachees (I.e. The individual being coached), to take accountability for their programmes; preparing them to continue on the learning journey, at the end of the formal programme.  Psychological and vocational assessments are excellent sources of information for the coach and coachee to explore and define clear developmental goals.

An experienced coaching professional facilitates the learning and development journey and together with the coachee works on a plan to achieve goals in the appropriate timeframe.

What is...Coaching Followers?

There are no leaders without followers. There are two primary reasons people follow; firstly because they have to (compliance), and secondly because they want to (commitment). In this day and age organisations need engaged followers (committed), simply because the scope, and ever increasing pace of change, demands self-leadership at all levels. The coaching observation is that, not all people lead others, however everyone is a leader of self. We can coach high performance followership.

What is Mentoring?

Alternatively, mentoring is a workplace partnership between two people which gives employees the opportunity to share their professional and personal skills and experiences, and to grow and develop in the process. It is based upon encouragement, constructive comments, openness, mutual trust, respect and a willingness to learn and share. Typically, mentoring takes place between a more experienced and a less experienced employee.
